Diets That Work
There are so many conflicting messages out there telling you
what the best diets are. You have gimmicky diet books about low
carb, fasting, low fat, celebrity, liquid, Atkins, South Beach,
high protein, and many more. You
even have people who aren’t professionals in the field creating
diet books, such as Dr. Phil. If you are searching for diets
that work, it can be so confusing.
Many of diets mentioned above may help you to lose weight,
but they will not help you to keep the weight off. That’s
because these diets eliminate one or more of the three
macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, and fats) that are
essential to a healthy, balanced diet. The diets that work are
those that include all of these three nutrients. Unfortunately,
there is no miracle formula for exactly what you should eat and
when you should eat it. You have to develop a system that works
best for you. A great way to do this is with a system that
provides you with tools to help.
The major factors of diets that work are often up to
you:
1. Making healthy choices when selecting the foods that you
eat - Even when you are forced to eat out, there are always
healthier alternatives available. You just have to find the
healthiest ones.
2. Eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day - This will
allow you to give your body only the amount it can burn off. It
will increase your metabolism and your body will continue to
burn calories throughout the day, not storing them as fat.
3. Being prepared - Many times people don’t eat properly
because they do not plan ahead of time. This often leaves you
with no choice, but to eat whatever is available. Diets that
work, only work because the person is willing to put forth a
little effort.
4. Start out slow - If you go cold turkey right from the
beginning you may burn yourself out before you get a chance to
adjust. Start by trying to cut out junk food, sweets, or soda,
then work you way up to the next level. Soon these will become
habits and making the right choices won’t be hard at all.
5. Include lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet -
Fruits and vegetables are all-natural and provide your body
with essential vitamin and nutrients. They are also rich in
fiber which helps control appetite, slow digestion, and improve
the health of you heart
6. Maybe the most important factor is finding healthy
choices that you like. If you don’t like to eat something,
there is a very good chance that you won’t. You may have to do
some experimenting and try some new things or combinations, but
it will be worth it. Having the choice to eat things that you
enjoy are the diets that work.
You can eat all the food you want if you eat the right types
of foods. You don’t have to starve yourself or think that you
can only eat salad all day if you want to lose weight. This
doesn’t mean that you can never eat burgers, pizza, beer, etc.
Everyone has a social life and you have to be both reasonable
and realistic. There are also simple variations you can make to
preparing foods that will make them healthier and still give
you the same tastes that you desire. Diets that work don’t have
to rule your life.
Now lets look at some foods to eat to lose
weight.
